Pastor Chris' Letter May 2016

Dear Trinity Family,              I wanted to take a moment to encourage everyone to pray for the United Methodist Church. In just a few days, delegates from around the world will meet in Portland, Oregon from May 10th through May 20th of 2016 to decide the direction of The United Methodist Church. This gathering is called General Conference. General Conference   is the top policy-making body of The United Methodist Church meeting once every four years. The conference can revise church law, as well as, adopt resolutions on current moral, social, public policy, and economic issues. It also approves plans and budgets for church-wide programs. The General Conference has many important issues to consider, and we as United Methodists need to pray for all involved from our delegates from Indiana to each and every member of the United Methodist Church around the world. Regardless of our personal opinions on the issues that this General Conference will face, we can all pray that by the guid

SoulFire Thanks Supporters of Nelson’s Chicken Fundraiser

On behalf of SoulFire Youth Group and Leaders, we simply can’t say “Thank You” enough to “You”, our church family, for the outstanding support and love during our Nelson’s Chicken Fundraiser! Between assistance in pre-sales (which we knocked out of the ballpark this year), the volunteer workers who packed boxes, made deliveries, sold meals, were prayer warriors for teens, assisted with deliveries for our shut-ins, gave donations for meals, gave donations for Momentum; and those who assisted with and attended our evening meal….All of these things were received with deep gratitude and appreciation as many of the teens spoke of this throughout the evening after they witnessed the outpour of love and support you have for them. Your actions and words are not just speaking to these teens during fundraisers, you continue to affirm God’s plans for their upcoming journey to Momentum! We have sixteen teens already registered for attending the annual event this year!! Praise God!  We are all

Pastor Chris' Letter April 2016

Dear Trinity Family, I hope that you are enjoying the warmer weather. I wanted to let you know that just like in many of our homes, our church needs a good spring cleaning with minor repairs here and there so that we can be good stewards of our building. Because of that, we will be having a volunteer work week the first week of May to maintain our buildings and grounds. We will have a variety of jobs (for all skill levels),  and these jobs will be spread throughout the week so that we can accommodate multiple schedules. Some of these jobs will help prepare us for some of the trustee’s larger projects this spring. For instance, we will be painting the hallway and classrooms below the sanctuary in preparation for new carpet. These small repairs enable us to keep our church clean and nice for our guests and helps us maintain this building for another generation. I would love it if you could find time during this week to pitch in and help as we keep our church clean and beautiful. Be

Nelson's Chicken

SoulFire will be selling Nelson’s chicken halves at the corner of State Road 3N and US 6 (House of Spirits) on Friday, April 15, 11 am—4pm. They will deliver chicken to our church shut-ins after school. At 6 pm everyone is encouraged to enjoy a chicken dinner in our Gathering Hall. Be sure to sign up at the Worship Center. How you can help: 1.   Take sign-up sheets to your work place and encourage co-workers to order for their lunch. If 10 or more chickens are ordered, we will provide free delivery. 2.   Sign up to work at the food site, to deliver meals, to transport youth who can’t drive to the homes of shut-ins. 3.   Attend the chicken dinner at the church that night at 6 pm. 4.   Buy chicken to freeze and enjoy at a later date.
