Pastor Chris' Letter April 2017

Dear Trinity Family, Last month it was my job to share the bittersweet news that Tina Wilkinson was resigning from her position at Trinity as our Director of Connections. This news is bitter because she will be missed. She and her family have been an integral part of the ministry of our church for the last 6 years. However this news has a sweet side. Since before I arrived at Trinity, Tina has been wrestling with a call upon her heart to help our community. By stepping away from Trinity, she can have the much needed space and rest to discern and pursue this call on her life. I am beyond grateful for Tina’s ministry at Trinity and beyond. She has been integral in helping Trinity through pastoral transition, building teams, and raising the level of our contemporary worship. I am so thankful for the gifts that God has given her for ministry. Both her heart and leadership have helped us come this far and we will miss her. I could spend the rest this newsletter expressing gratitude for

Pastor Angie's In-Spire-ations April 2017

I started this year doing something I have wanted to do for some time.  I took a class through the Rueben Job Spiritual Formation Center at Garrett.  The topic was the Desert Elders.  I have mentioned them before, but I want to say a little more about them.  They have significantly shaped my faith over the past 20 years. These men and women lived in the early centuries although their legacy continues in modern day monks.  Their culture had become rough and they struggled to live out their faith in the midst of the chaotic environment. They left everything behind to go live in the desert.  Some of them lived in caves while others even dug holes in the ground in which to live.  On the surface, it looks like they are running AWAY from something, doesn’t it?  Look again…but this time imagine them running TO God. They had little written word so they spent hours memorizing scripture.  They prayed without ceasing.  They listened for God intently.  In doing this, they gained great wisdom.

A Letter from Tina Wilkinson

Dear Trinity Family,   As I write this letter, I am in the final stages of preparing for our mission trip to Guatemala.  I find myself reflecting on the last year that has brought us to this point and anxious to see how this journey ends.  We all walk through many journeys in our lifetime and 6 years ago, Jim and I started our unexpected journey with Trinity.  At the time, our hearts had been searching for where God wanted to use us, and he used a sound board issue to bring us to Trinity.  Since we first met at Taylor University, God brought our hearts for ministry through music and discipleship together.  With Jim’s degree in Christian Education and mine in Music/Business, He has used our gifts and talents in many different places, for which we are grateful.  We, like your pastors, know that whenever we land somewhere, it is for a season.  We are there to do what God is asking of us.  Six years ago, He brought us to Trinity and 5 years ago, I became part of staff. This journey has
