Pastor Chris' Letter June 2017
Dear Trinity Family,
As I write my letter today, I find myself rejuvenated by the hope that I had two years ago as I came to be your pastor. I remember being excited and nervous to take a leap of faith to come to a town I did not know and to see where God would lead us. My overwhelming thought prayer continues to be that I cannot wait to see the marvelous things God will do in and through this congregation.
I want to take the time today to share with you exciting news for our church family. Many of you may remember that I had shared a few months ago that we were seeking a full-time Director of Family Ministries. This position was created to show our seriousness in answering God’s call to reach another generation for the gospel of Jesus Christ. The interview process for this position has been long but we felt it best to find the person who would lead us forward in ministry and be the fit that God wanted for our church. With this being said I am happy to announce that we have hired an amazingly talented young man to join our staff here at Trinity Church. We looked at many candidates but this one stood well above the rest. I am confident that in the waiting and searching God has brought us a person for such a time as this.
We have hired Phil Muncie as our new Director of Worship and Family Ministries. We have includ-ed a small bio and picture for Phil inside this issue of the newsletter. This is a full-time paid position that fits within our current budget. His duties will include worship design and music for our second service. He will also work hands-on with our youth group (SoulFire.) He will also work with Debbie Miller and myself to develop effective education for all ages. The key to our plan is working with families because children’s and youth ministries are given life when the whole family is involved in being and making disciples. We only get children one or two hours a week (if we are lucky), they are with their families all the time.
We are pleased to welcome Phil and his wife Rachel (Rae) into our church family. I hope you will join me in welcoming them to our community and having them join us in ministry. I invite you to come on Graduation Sunday (June 4th) to welcome Phil and Rachel at both services as we celebrate the future of our ministry and our graduates.
