Pastor Angie's In-Spire-ations February 2019

Last month, I shared 3 questions from one of my devotionals.  One of those questions, was, “In what ways am I being invited to grow?”  As the new year begins, I can’t help but wonder how I will be invited to grow.  Sometimes I fall into the trap of spending too much time on the “what ifs” instead of attending to “what IS.”
I have a devotional that is titled, Jesus Always: Embracing Joy in His Presence by Sarah Young. (Thanks, Dian) It’s worded as if Jesus is speaking directly to the reader.
Just when I felt 2019 was going to be a mountain to climb, these are the words I read from two different passages a couple of days apart:
I AM YOUR STRENGTH! When you begin a day feeling weak and weary, it’s all right.  Your weakness can be a reminder of your need for Me.  Remember that I am with you continually—ready to help you as you go along your way.  Take My hand in joyful trust, letting Me guide you and strengthen you.  I delight in helping you, My child. … I will give you what you need to keep moving forward, step by step. … Trust that I know what I’m doing—and just take the next step.
Did you see that?  “It’s all right” to feel weak and weary sometimes.  Let it serve as a reminder of God’s strength in your life.  “Joyful trust” is what God asks of us.  Don’t trust God begrudgingly because that’s what we “should” do as Christians, but trust joyfully!  The part that really hit me was that God doesn’t just help us, God DELIGHTS in helping us!
RELAX, MY CHILD.  I’m in control.  Let these words wash over you repeatedly, like soothing waves on a beautiful beach, assuring you of My endless Love.  You waste a lot of time and energy trying to figure out things before their time has come.  Meanwhile, I am working to prepare the way before you.  So be on the lookout for some wonderful surprises—circumstances that only I could have orchestrated. … As you look ahead into the unknown future, relax in the knowledge of who you are—the one I love.  Cling to My hand, and go forward with confidence.
That’s me alright! “You waste a lot of time and energy trying to figure out things before their time has come.”  All the while, God is preparing the way for us, the ones God loves.  February is full of love talk, but there is NO love so enduring as the love God has for God’s own.  Remember that, Okay?  God is preparing a way for us because God loves us and delights in us!
Praise the Lord because he is good to us, and his love never fails.  ~~ I Chronicles 16:34            The Lord is merciful!  He is kind and patient, and his love never fails.  ~~ Psalms 103:8
Your challenge for February is to look for a new verse each day that says, “God’s (His) love never fails.”  Can you post at least one every day on our Trinity Facebook page to tell the world we believe in that love and we trust it joyfully?  Let’s shout that out, Trinity!
