A Letter from Tina Wilkinson

Dear Trinity Family,   As I write this letter, I am in the final stages of preparing for our mission trip to Guatemala.  I find myself reflecting on the last year that has brought us to this point and anxious to see how this journey ends.  We all walk through many journeys in our lifetime and 6 years ago, Jim and I started our unexpected journey with Trinity.  At the time, our hearts had been searching for where God wanted to use us, and he used a sound board issue to bring us to Trinity.  Since we first met at Taylor University, God brought our hearts for ministry through music and discipleship together.  With Jim’s degree in Christian Education and mine in Music/Business, He has used our gifts and talents in many different places, for which we are grateful.  We, like your pastors, know that whenever we land somewhere, it is for a season.  We are there to do what God is asking of us.  Six years ago, He brought us to Trinity and 5 yea...

Trinity Reaching Out

This year we are approaching VBS in a new way.  We had originally decided to use July 17th-21st as our VBS week.  However, with school date changes, most of our families were going to be gone on vacation or couldn't make it.  So,  it was decided to think outside the box and truly  make it an outreach experience;  so, we will be  having a one day event called Mega Sports Camp at Sunset Park on Sunday, August 14 from10am-4pm.  We will be using this day as a way for Trinity to reach out to our neighborhoods.  This will be followed by our annual Block Party from 5-7pm.  It will be a full day of missional outreach to all ages.  We will need many hands to make this day happen.  Details will be coming in the next few weeks.  Mark your calendar!

"Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak,  and Even Slower to get Angry"   By Bishop Mike Coyner My inbox has been full lately with dozens of angry messages from people I do not know. Most have accused me of false belief, intolerance, and close-mindedness. It took a while for me to understand the source of all this anger – and ironically it is for a decision that I did not make or know about until the last few days. Sometimes people are angry with me for things I have done or decided (and sometimes their anger is justified) but it is intriguing to see how dozens of people who don't know me (or the facts) can so quickly become angry with me Here is what happened: the General Commission on the General Conference decides which vendors are allowed to have displays during General Conference.
