Let’s Have Some Fun!

With the start of a new teaching series about having a party we are going to have a few chances for you to join in on the fun. We are going to have a few special Sundays this Fall where we would like you to wear a special outfit. After the fun we had last year with our Ugly Christmas Sweater Sunday, we are now adding a few more days. Please note that you can choose not to participate, as always; no one should be judged for what they wear to church. That being said, these special Sundays are: September 9th – Jersey or Sports Sunday. This is opening weekend of the NFL wear your favorite team gear and celebrate at the church. November 11th – Dress-Up Sunday. Wear your best outfit. Have fun with it, maybe wear your tux and tails to church—it will be a blast. (Note the pastors already have special outfits for this Sunday!) And finally the return of the famous Ugly Christmas Sweater Sunday on December 23rd. There will again be prizes for the best Ugly Christmas Outfit. Let’s all take time this Fall to celebrate together and have a little fun with some fun outfits.

Last month, I asked you to reflect on three questions during Lent: What will you do…learn…or become in the liminal space between now and July?   What will you let go of so that your hands are free to embrace something new? What can we do together that will make us even stronger when our new pastor arrives? It has been a challenging month for many of us personally, professionally and as a church family coming to terms with Chris moving and a new pastor coming…and then NOT coming.   The word “mulligan” just might be our buzz word for a little while!   I’m not generally a Wikipedia fan, but I looked up the word mulligan and this is what it said, “A mulligan is a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder.
